Born in the Pearl of the Antilles: Haiti, Jean Savio Estel, M.D., DABFM, attended medical school at the Catholic University of Notre-Dame of Haiti. To further his training, Dr. Estel moved to the island of Puerto Rico where he successfully completed his family medicine residency. There, he also served as chief resident of the Mayaguez Medical Center Family Medicine Residency program. Dr. Estel is a Board Certified member of the American Board of Family Medicine and a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. Out of his deep connection and love for his own maternal grandparents, Dr. Estel developed a passion for the area of geriatric medicine. To prepare himself to provide the best care possible for his patients, Dr. Estel elected to complete a Fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at Florida Hospital in Winter Park.

When not practicing medicine, Dr. Estel enjoys hanging out with his lovely wife and two young boys, mostly riding bicycles, playing soccer, traveling or cooking.

“Never stop learning” is his motto in life; he truly believes if we keep an open mind we’ll never stop learning from either life situations or each other.
