Samuel Dunlop, DNP, NP-C, is an advanced registered nurse practitioner who was certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners in 2019. He received his bachelor’s degree in nursing from Jacksonville University and went on to receive his doctorate in nursing practice from the University of Florida.
Sam began his nursing career working in a cardiovascular intensive care unit for seven years before returning to school to gain a deeper knowledge and understanding of how health and medicine could work together to improve his patients’ lives. He has always loved science and learning how the body works, which makes his position at MetroHealth all the more meaningful.
Sam values working with the geriatric population because he wishes to improve their quality of life so they can enjoy life to the fullest. He makes it his mission to care for each and every patient the same way he would hope someone in his own family would be cared for.
Outside of the office, Sam loves spending time at the beach with his wife and three young children. He also enjoys coral reefs and tropical fish, and maintains his own reef tank at home.
